O PRAISE the LORD, laud ye the Name of the LORD; * praise it, O ye servants of the LORD;
 
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, * in the courts of the house of our God.
 
O praise the LORD, for the LORD is gracious; * O sing praises unto his Name, for it is lovely.
 
For why? the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, * and Israel for his own possession.
 
For I know that the LORD is great, * and that our Lord is above all gods.
 
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth; * and in the sea, and in all deep places.
 
He bringeth forth the clouds from the ends of the world, * and sendeth forth lightnings with the rain, bringing the winds out of his treasuries.
 
He smote the firstborn of Egypt, * both of man and beast.
 
He hath sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O thou land of Egypt; * upon Pharaoh, and all his servants.
 
He smote divers nations, * and slew mighty kings:
 
Sihon, king of the Amorites; and Og, the king of Bashan; * and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
 
And gave their land to be an heritage, * even an heritage unto Israel his people.
 
Thy Name, O LORD, endureth for ever; * so doth thy memorial, O LORD, from one generation to another.
 
For the LORD will avenge his people, * and be gracious unto his servants.
 
As for the images of the heathen, they are but silver and gold; * the work of men's hands.
 
They have mouths, and speak not; * eyes have they, but they see not.
 
They have ears, and yet they hear not; * neither is there any breath in their mouths.
 
They that make them are like unto them; * and so are all they that put their trust in them.
 
Praise the LORD, ye house of Israel; * praise the LORD, ye house of Aaron.
 
Praise the LORD, ye house of Levi; * ye that fear the LORD, praise the LORD.
 
Praised be the LORD out of Sion, * who dwelleth at Jerusalem.

Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth. Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord. For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

O ALMIGHTY God, who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men; Grant unto thy people, that they may love the thing which thou commandest, and desire that which thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
