Why the Book of Common Prayer?
|
||
|
CommonPrayer.org is a resource site for materials related to the 1928 Book
of Common Prayer, supplemented with
Anglican devotional prayers. Morning and Evening Prayer
as used for public and private worship are available with the
Psalms, Lessons and Collect for the day incorporated in the text. The Hourly Offices (Laud, Prime,
Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline) are offered, along with the Occasional
Offices intended for individual and family usage. There are several versions of
an Ordo Calendar with propers for Sundays and Holy Days from various sources.
Reference materials such as copies of the order for Holy Communion from
each of the several historical editions of the Book of Common Prayer are also made
available herein. The 1928 'PECUSA' Book of Common Prayer is the
primary source for the Offices. Supplemental material from other
traditional Anglican liturgical and devotional books has also been used. CommonPrayer.org is an independent, private ministry not affiliated with or sponsored by any church, diocese, jurisdiction, province, or other ecclesiastical body. There are no issues or politics here; just resources for anyone with an interest in Daily Prayer and the 1928 Prayer Book. |
