O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth stand

Benedic, anima mea.
PRAISE the LORD, O my soul;
* and all that is within me, praise his holy Name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul,
* and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thy sin,
* and healeth all thine infirmities;
Who saveth thy life from destruction,
* and crowneth thee with mercy and loving-kindness;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things,
* making thee young and lusty as an eagle.
The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment
* for all them that are oppressed with wrong.
He showed his ways unto Moses,
* his works unto the children of Israel.
The LORD is full of compassion and mercy,
* long-suffering, and of great goodness.
He will not alway be chiding;
* neither keepeth he his anger for ever.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins;
* nor rewarded us according to our wickednesses.
For look how high the heaven is in comparison of
the earth;
* so great is his mercy also toward them that fear him.
Look how wide also the east is from the west;
* so far hath he set our sins from us.
Yea, like as a father pitieth his own children;
* even so is the LORD merciful unto them that fear him.
For he knoweth whereof we are made;

But the merciful goodness of the LORD endureth

GLORY be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men. We
praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give
thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the
Father Almighty.
O Lord, the only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son
of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon
us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer.
Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon
us. For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ,
with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
The First Lesson
Isaiah 49:13-23
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath
comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me,
and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have
compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have
graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Thy children shall make
haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee. Lift up thine eyes round about,
and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt
surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth. For thy
waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of
the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. The children which thou shalt have,
after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me
that I may dwell. Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my
children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I
was left alone; these, where had they been? Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to
the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy
daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens
thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of
thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
Magnificat. St. Luke i. 46.
MY soul doth magnify the Lord, * and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my
Saviour.
For he hath regarded * the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold, from henceforth * all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath magnified me; * and holy is his Name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him * throughout all generations.
He hath showed strength with his arm; * he hath scattered the proud in
the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat, * and hath exalted the

The Second Lesson
Ephesians 3:1-12
For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the
dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known
unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my
knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it
is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs,
and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a
minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the
Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus
Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by
the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ
Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

LORD, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, * according to thy
word.
For mine eyes have seen * thy salvation,

To be a light to lighten the Gentiles, * and to be the glory of thy

The Apostles' Creed.
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:

crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he

The Collect for the Day
The Third Sunday After Easter
ALMIGHTY God, who showest to them that are in
error the light of thy truth, to the intent that they
may return into the way of righteousness; Grant unto all
those who are admitted into the fellowship of Christ's Religion,
that they may avoid those things that are contrary
to their profession, and follow all such things as are agreeable
to the same; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Collect for Peace.
O GOD, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works
do proceed; Give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot
give; that our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that
by thee, we, being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our
time in rest and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our
Saviour. Amen.
A Collect for Aid against Perils.
LIGHTEN our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord; and by thy great mercy
defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of thy
only Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for the President of the United States
A Prayer for the Clergy and People.
Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect
gift; Send down upon our Bishops, and other Clergy, and upon the
Congregations committed to their charge, the healthful Spirit of thy
grace; and, that they may truly please thee, pour upon them the continual
dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honour of our Advocate
and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Prayer for All Conditions of Men.
O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee
for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to
make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More
especially we pray for thy holy Church universal; that it may be so
guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call
themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the
faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of
life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are any
ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; [* especially
those for whom our prayers are desired;] that it may please thee to
comfort and relieve them, according to their several necessities; giving
them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their
afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
